i detest the way young un’s have managed to forget about the once great r&b artists like boyz II men and brian mcknight. does anyone remember the soulful voices from tracks like “on bended knee,” “the end of the road,” and “one last cry?” now we have these groups int the industry that can attempt an r&b flavour in their tracks, but to no avail.

i remember singing along to the old cooleyhighmarmony way back when as LG73 jammed on my radio. those were the facking days, i tell you. none of this “this i promise you” sweetness, which is nice in its own way but will never compare to the vocals of nathan, shawn, michael, and wanya — the true boyz. and what’s with their lack of requests on the radios now? “pass you by” was the shit, and it had almost zero play. *sigh*

joe comes the closest to their talent in my book. but damn, nsync and backstreet boys just will never rise to the boyz’s level in the upcoming years. i couldn’t even believe that boyz II men were voted best vocal group of the 90s decade… along with the backstreet boys. talent is defined by so little nowadays.
