is the intolerance for asians in north america really increasing? with incidents like the american spy plane going down in china and movies like “pearl harbour,” it’s hard to consequently determine if there is an anti-asian sentiment recently, especially since the states is supposedly going through a recession and needing more than ever a foreign scapegoat.

i, for one, am not feeling it. if anything, this strange sentiment is probably just the american retort to threatening countries. to appear the strongest, americans on television shows are attacking china and other asian nations comedically, using verbal jabs. but then again, i really am not feeling it. there are always going to be jokes thrown around about being asian or american, no matter where you live. asians, as a minority in canada or america, should stop feeling threatened by these little nit-picky things.
