i find it hilarious how the “boycott willa ford” site comes up first in an google search while willa ford’s official site appears a lowly second.

WTF? a mirror image!it’s also quite funny how ford and rival britney spears sound exactly the same, even when they hate each other. what characteristics could possibly distinguish themselves from the other in order to find grounds to hate one another? they sing the same with the impromptu “ooh”s and “ahh”s inserted in the same cheesy chorus. both their image and their voice are identical to each other’s. i cannot tell ford from spears.

i’m not sure how little girls (and some boys) look up to stars like these as role models… people they wish to emulate and somehow transform into once they hit puberty and become bombshells. is that the way to grow up, wishing to be a sexy star with a gaspy voice and busting cleavage? i can understand kids reading great timeless pieces and saying “hey mom, when i grow up i want to write like john knowles and revive the gothic novel like mary shelley.”

but nooo… these kids want to dance and bop and hop and sing along to pre-recorded tracks on stage. do you know how low the percentage rate of these pre-teens actually becoming reknowned pop artists is? slim to none. britney had the luck of the draw, while few others were based on raw vocal talent. i’m not saying kids should give up their dreams of dancing and singing, but parents should really encourage their children to focus on their true strengths rather than their unattainable fantasies, whether they be academics or sports or writing. instead, these kids want to be superstars, one of the most undeserving professions in the world.
