i hate it when i tell people that i’m majoring in history and they reply, “what are you going to do with that? become a historian?” well, what are you going to do with a degree in anthropology? become an anthropologist?

and what if i want to become a historian? what’s with the negative connotation? sorry we don’t all want to be businessmen in the business world working in businesses.

besides, not everyone who majors in a particular field actually ends up in that same field as a career. like, i know this one dude, with a degree in philosophy, and he’s, like, the manager at blockbuster.
