it’s still good, it’s still good

i know people are claiming that shows like the simpsons and friends just aren’t funny anymore, and i’d like to take this time to state the world-famous abbreviation “WTF?” i still love the simpsons and i still love friends. maybe it is people’s sense of humour that is changing and these shows’ shticks just aren’t their cup of tea anymore. or maybe it’s just because i don’t know when to stop holding on to dead television weight (the same thing happened with felicity). either way, i still find both shows hilarious.

and since this is the last season of friends, i thought it would be nice to discuss my complete obsession with ross and rachel. they really need to end the show with those two together because ross is just too frickin’ adorably dorky. and you all know dorky = sexy in my book.

lookin' good, mr. cotter.“the one with the prom video” is my all-time favourite friends episode. “why?” you ask. because it incorporates everything i love about the show: rachel and ross kiss, funny jokes, rachel and ross kiss, flashbacks to the eighties, rachel and ross kiss, the geller parents, rachel and ross kiss… what’s not to love?

“the one where ross finds out” runs a close second to this episode, but look at ross’s hair! he’s the only guy who can sport that curly monstrosity atop his head and upper lip and still make me want to cream my panties.

i live through my television, and i realize how sad that is. obviously, i have my own life and all that boring stuff, but television shows provide me with that fantasy projection of relationships and friendships that i just wish i had. and now with more of my favourite shows ending (i.e., roswell, felicity, buffy, sex and the city, and now friends), that vicarious bubble is coming close to popping.

don’t look at me like that. i know you watch too much television, too.
