high school hierarchy

i’ve been working with a lot of high school students recently and it strikes me that i might have actually enjoyed high school, if not for those stupid, bitchy “popular” girls who set the bar for high school “coolness”. and it’s not that i wanted to be one of those girls. i just hated the way they carried themselves: “hey, look at me! i’m cool because i don’t participate in class, i apply my make-up that resembles pancake batter when people are making presentations, and i yawn every time someone calls on me to answer a question! hey, can anyone see my butt-crack when i wear these low-slung jeans that almost show my shaved cooch?”

i know not all stupid, bitchy “popular” girls are like this; there are exceptions to every rule, just like not all old chinese women like to haggle for prices at retail stores, mistaking them for flea markets. but there sure are a lot of them who do.

on an aside, i made auto line breaks available for when you comment (with a little help from rachel). i also spruced up film nerd a bit and got some stuff working at men & geeks (jeez, i title my sub-sections funny), so be sure to check those out.
