whenever i come across the topic of women’s foot-binding in china in my studies (which is actually pretty often, for some odd reason), i tell myself, “pfff, stupid old chinese people and their stupid silly traditions.” and then i go and try to break in my new steve madden shoes, only to end up with two huge blisters on my feet. yeah, so it appears we haven’t really evolved all that much.
