I made it to Cape Town in one piece, after over 24 hours in planes and airports. And it is surprisingly cold here! I didn’t even bring a jacket. What’s up, Africa? I thought you were supposed to be all hot and stuff. Where are the zebras and desert plains right when I stepped off the plane? Damn Hollywood for shaping my knowledge of continental climates!
As expected, my little checked-in bag, which I locked using some thick twine (because I didn’t have any more actual locks), had its zippers completely ripped off. Nothing was stolen (I purposely only filled it will useless crap, such as used shampoo bottles and dirty underwear), but I can now only open it by putting some string through what is left of the metal zipper.
Anyway, I am in Africa! Cra-zay! We leave South Africa for Namibia around July 9, and that’s when I need to start taking my malaria pills. Mmm, mosquitoes.
